Help
A: On2Chat is available on most major US wireless carriers and all Canadian wireless carriers. You will most likely be chatting with people who are using a different wireless service, but because it is anonymous you are not aware of the network others are using.

A: No. Any cellular phone that can send a text message is able to use On2Chat.

A: You can find details on how to send a text message from your phone on the website of your cellular provider or by consulting the user guide for the phone you have purchased. Select from the following links: AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Nextel (select your phone and review the user guide to find instructions on how to send a text message), Verizon Wireless, Rogers AT&T Wireless, Telus Mobility, Bell Mobility, SaskTel Mobility, MTS Mobility, Fido, Northern Telecom, Telebec, and Aliant Telecom.

A: For a limited time only, On2Chat is available at standard text messaging rates, check with your wireless provider to see what fees apply.

A: All On2Chat messages need to be sent to 91010.

A: To start using On2Chat you need to set up an On2Chat nickname by sending a text message to 91010 like this..
N SPIKE
A confirmation message will be sent back to you.

A: No, your username is remembered by our system in association with your phone ID. You will continue to be recognized unless you send the command E to 91010.

A: No, you can't. On2Chat will accept that registration and add a number to it. For example, if you wanted your nickname to be SPIKE, but someone else in On2Chat took this then you would become SPIKE1.

A: You can change your nickname as often as you want to. Just use the NEW command like this...
NEW 'new nickname' and send the text message to 91010.

A: You can get help from the system by sending H to the service.

A: Yes, you can. Just repeat the procedures for joining a chat room.

A: Simply send the text message Q and the name of the chat room you want to leave to 91010 like this...
Q AFTADARK

A: Yes, because On2Chat uses text-messaging technology, you can make/receive calls at the same time.

A. Yes! You can tell the difference between On2Chat messages and other types of messages by looking at the incoming message number. Messages from On2Chat will say On2Chat at the start of the body of the message and will most likely come from 91010.

A. You can send messages up to 136 characters.

A: To take a break from chatting with others, use the sleep command. This will leave you registered with On2Chat but you won't receive any messages.
S Hi, I'm taking a break for a while. I'll chat with you again later.
And send the text message to 91010.
When you want to return to On2Chat, simply use the RETURN command like this...
R
You'll now be available to receive messages from others within On2Chat.

A: No. Just like normal text messages you will still receive messages. They will queue and be delivered when you switch on. To temporarily stop On2Chat messages use the SLEEP function.

A. Yes, unless you choose to SLEEP. As long as you are awake within the system (whether or not your phone is turned on), you can appear in searches and receive messages from other registered On2Chat users. If you are awake but your phone is turned off, you will still receive messages, but they will not be delivered until you turn your phone back on. Regardless of whether or not you are set to SLEEP or AWAKE, others may still see the contents of your public profile.

A. No, once you hit the send key, you cannot retrieve or cancel a message.

A: To temporarily stop using On2Chat use the SLEEP function, you will not receive any messages while sleeping, and your profile and nickname are kept active.
To exit from On2Chat completely, simply send the command E to 91010. This will permanently delete your nickname and profile from On2Chat.The next time you would like to use On2Chat you will need to start again from the registration process.

A: No. On2Chat is an anonymous service based on nicknames. As such, other people will only know you by your nickname.

A: No

A: No

A: Your nickname is unique. In order to 100% impersonate someone the other user will need your phone. There are, however, some situations that may cause confusion:
1) If one user registers "ROMEO" or "romeO" (i.e. both with the capital letter "O" at the end) and another user registers "ROME0" or "rome0" both with a zero at the end)
2) If a user who registers "ROMEO" quits the system and another person then registers for the name "ROMEO", then users who have contacted the first owner will not know. There is no incubation period.
A: You can use On2Chat wherever you have access to the network via roaming.

A: You can email us at help@on2chat.com or call our help line at 416-442-8463 and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.
